Hi everyone! This is a quick post to update you on what’s happening behind the scenes at AW80W.
New Website
Firstly, if you’re reading this post, you’ve either signed up to receive email updates on my shiny new webpage or you’re on the website right now. This is an exciting step because I’ve never had a website before. It’s also a learning curve so bear with me as I iron things out over the next few weeks. Luckily, I have a technology-savvy husband who can help me with any technical challenges as they arise.
Published Articles
To date, there are three AW80W articles for you to enjoy on Medium: Safia’s story from Somalia; Maria’s story from Spain; and Máire Áine’s story from the Republic of Ireland. There’s also an introductory article explaining what motivated me to start the project, so please check them out if you can.*
Upcoming Article
I’m currently working on a draft of Kasia’s story from Poland. This is set to be a fascinating article that explores the legacy of conflict in a country still trying to find its way. I can’t wait to share it with you.
Take Part
I‘m also recruiting new participants and would love to hear from any women (in the most inclusive sense) who would like to contribute. If you’re worried your life isn’t ‘interesting’ enough, please dismiss that thought immediately.
So far in this project, I’ve heard things like ‘But my life isn’t that exciting‘ or ‘I don’t know if you’d get much of interest from me’ several times and it’s simply not true. No matter your background, I guarantee there are thought-provoking and fascinating elements ready to take shape if you’re willing to share them.
I can’t wait to hear from you soon!
